CFMT Connects Forum - Building a More Inclusive Future: Nonprofits Serving the LGBTQ+ Community in Middle Tennessee
Thursday, August 21, 2025 (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM) (CDT)
Description
Join us for a lunchtime forum where donors and changemakers will collaborate to explore the challenges and opportunities facing nonprofit organizations that serve LGBTQ+ individuals across Middle Tennessee. From youth to seniors, LGBTQ+ community members often face barriers when accessing essential supports like healthcare, housing, and social services.
Why It Matters: This conversation goes beyond individual issues. We will explore the need for connection, inclusion, autonomy, and opportunity — those fundamental components of social capital that help communities thrive. You’ll hear from local leaders working at the intersection of advocacy and direct service, and you’ll leave with a better understanding of how your philanthropy can directly strengthen and build a more supportive community.
The Experts: Kelsea Comb, Special Projects Coordinator, Metro Office of Homeless Services; Ashley Hampton, Executive Director, Healing in the Margins; Amna Osman, Chief Executive Officer, Nashville CARES; Maxine Spencer, Co-founder, Trans Aid Nashville
