Executive Director

The Tennessee Pride Chamber (TNPC) seeks a dynamic, visionary leader to serve as its next Executive Director (ED). Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for the successful leadership, management, and administration of the organization in accordance with the mission and strategic direction set by the Board. The ED oversees all strategic and operational aspects of TNPC’s staff, programs, advocacy, and partnerships, serving as a passionate representative of TNPC and its mission to advocate, educate, and connect.
The Position
Strategic Leadership
In partnership with the Board, develop and implement a strategic plan that advances TNPC’s mission. In this role you will:
- Lead staff in designing programming
- Develop policy
- Foster a statewide network that supports LGBTQ+ small businesses, entrepreneurs, and corporate partners
Networking & Community Engagement
Serve as an active and visible leader across Tennessee’s business and civic communities. Build strong relationships with members, partners, and allies through intentional outreach, networking events, and community presence. Represent TNPC at business functions, conferences, and public events to expand its statewide reach and influence.
Optimizing Key Business & Community Leadership
Provide strategic leadership that attracts new members and retains existing LGBTQ+ business leaders. Clearly articulate the “value proposition” of TNPC membership and promote active participation in its initiatives and programs.
Membership Relations
Identify the needs of Tennessee’s LGBTQ+ small business owners and provide educational and networking opportunities that promote growth and connection. Lead efforts to recruit, engage, and retain members through compelling programming and communication.
Board Relationship
Collaborate closely with the Board to inspire engagement and strategic oversight. Maintain regular contact with the Board President and Executive Team. In this role you will:
- Foster relationships to navigate and maintain coordination amongst board members and members at large
- Align people, systems, and resources to achieve organizational goals
- Demonstrate successful leadership and management capability
- Maintain consistent coordination with the President and Executive Team to empower all Board of Directors and Members to implement the mission of the organization
- Support committees and all event efforts
Advocacy / Government & Community Partnerships
Lead TNPC’s advocacy and public policy efforts to cultivate relationships with city, county, state, and federal officials. Build and sustain relationships with elected officials and partner organizations to advance LGBTQ+ business priorities. Represent TNPC in legislative and policy discussions that impact the economic vitality of the community. In this role you will:
- Communicate policy positions that elevate awareness of issues affecting LGBTQ+ businesses statewide
- Organize advocacy campaigns and represent TNPC in statewide economic development discussions
- Collaborate with Board to establish TNPC’s legislative agenda and monitor relevant policy developments
Administration
Oversee operations, staffing, and budgeting to ensure efficiency, growth, and alignment with strategic goals. In this role you will:
- Support the President and Treasurer in their official duties regarding the financial health and activities of TNPC
- Develop sustainable financial models and ensure organizational effectiveness through sound management practices
Spokesperson
Serve as TNPC’s key public representative. Promote opportunities for the Board and members to serve as visible ambassadors of the organization. Represent TNPC at relevant conferences, industry gatherings, and signature events - reinforcing the Chamber’s leadership role.
External Relations & Marketing
Ensure TNPC’s visibility in civic, business, and cultural arenas. Lead communication and marketing strategies that highlight TNPC’s impact and support member engagement.
Fundraising & Membership Development
Lead and expand TNPC’s Foundation’s fundraising efforts to sustain and grow programs and events. Engage members, sponsors, and donors in supporting TNPC’s long-term success. In this role you will:
Plan and execute fundraising campaigns to meet or exceed revenue goals
Cultivate membership growth through stewarding relationships with individual donors, sponsors, and local businesses and corporations
Identify, research, and solicit prospective donors and funding opportunities
Travel Requirements
This position requires in-state travel for statewide relationship building and attendance at TNPC events, as well as out-of-state travel for national conferences and professional development opportunities.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or significant experience in a relevant field
Prior leadership experience in a membership-based or nonprofit organization is preferred.
Excellent communicator with the ability to build trust, credibility, and enthusiasm across diverse audiences.
Self-starter who thrives in dynamic environments to achieve strategic goals.
Reliable transportation

- Demonstrated fundraising and business development experience.

- Skilled in motivating teams and volunteers to deliver high-quality results.
- Visionary thinker with a record of developing and initiating new ideas that drive organizational growth and progress.

Compensation and Incentives
The Executive Director’s compensation includes a base salary and eligibility for a performance-based incentive, determined by the achievement of specific annual goals in areas such as fundraising, membership growth, and program impact. This structure is intended to reward leadership that expands the reach and sustainability of TNPC’s mission.
The base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $110,000 with additional performance incentives available.
