Membership Development Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Membership Development Manager is a key revenue-generating and relationship-focused role responsible for growing, retaining, and engaging the Tennessee Pride Chamber’s statewide membership base. Working closely with the Executive Director, this position is a critical role in the Chamber’s membership strategy—from prospecting new membership to retention, renewal, and long-term engagement of our current support base.
This role is responsible for delivering a high-value member experience through consistent communication, benefit fulfillment, and strategic engagement opportunities. The Membership Development Manager will identify and cultivate new business relationships, strengthen partnerships, and ensure members are actively connected to the Chamber’s core pillars of education, advocacy, and connection.
Additionally, this role oversees membership-focused programming and partnership-driven events that support recruitment, retention, and overall revenue growth.
The Membership Development Manager position is currently a Work from Home position; however, some partner meetings will require staff to meet and work outside of the WFH environment. Additionally, some travel across the statewide market will be required. Typical work schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday, 40 hours weekly, however evening work and weekend availability are a must for success in this role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Membership Growth & Revenue Development
- Lead the execution portions of the Chamber’s membership growth strategy, with a focus on increasing overall membership revenue.
- Identify, prospect, and cultivate new member leads through networking, referrals, and community engagement.
- Manage the full membership lifecycle including onboarding, engagement, renewal, and retention strategies.
- Own and execute a structured membership renewal process, including timely invoicing, follow-up, and revenue tracking.
- With the Outreach Committee, analyze membership trends, revenue performance, and engagement metrics to inform strategy and improve outcomes.
Member Engagement & Experience
- Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with members through proactive communication and high-touch engagement.
- Support consistent delivery of member benefits, reinforcing the value of Chamber membership.
- Support member engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
Programming & Partnership Activation
- Oversee the planning and execution of membership-focused events, including networking programs and community partnership activations.
- Ensure events align with membership growth, engagement, and revenue goals, not just attendance.
Communications & Visibility
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with members and prospects across email, phone, social media, and in-person engagement, and track engagement in organizations relationship CRM.
- Support the development of membership messaging that clearly articulates value and drives conversion.
- Represent the Chamber at events, meetings, and in the community as a brand ambassador.
Operations & Organizational Support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records, ensuring strong data integrity and reporting.
- Prepare regular reports on membership performance, revenue, and engagement for the Executive Director and Board.
- Support Chamber initiatives, programs, and events as needed to advance organizational goals.
- Attend events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
